Beijing (CNS) – A total of 13.12 million people visited attractions in Beijing during the Super Golden Week, an increase of 22.7 percent from last year and a record high, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development said on Sunday.
During the eight-day holiday, visitors to famous scenic spots such as the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, the Badaling Great Wall and the Lama Temple spent nearly 8.8 billion yuan, an increase of 29.4 percent from last year, the commission said.
More than 2.93 million visitors from outside the city spent nearly 7.16 billion yuan here, an average of 2,440 yuan each, according to the commission's data.
Tourists to Beijing's suburbs also increased, accounting for 4.23 million, an increase of 28.7 percent from last year.
