广东中山市新闻办公室10日对媒体宣布,谎报飞机“炸弹”的中山少年嫌疑人已在其父带领下,向中山警方自首。
Zhongshan(CNS)—A young man who made threatening phone calls that put several flights on high alert has turned himself in, according to a Zhongshan city official in Guangdong Province on Wednesday.
The flights CA4111 from Lhasa to Beijing and CA1578 from Nanchang to Beijing received anonymous threatening calls on Tuesday, causing plane evacuations and security inspections.
Local police said the man surnamed Chen is a native of Hubei Province who was mentally unstable when he called the emergency line around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, just a day before turning 16.
Earlier this year Chen was diagnosed as having suffered from mental dissociation for many years. He was joined by his father when he surrendered to authorities.
Chen was sent for medical treatment in Zhongshan on Wednesday evening.
