Nanchang (CNS) -- A one-month show of five restored bronzeware works from the Shang Dynasty (1600 BC-1046 BC) opened at the Jiangxi Provincial Museum on Friday.

Repair of the bronzeware was funded by the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation in August 2011. The pieces are among about 2,000 items unearthed from Jiangxi's Xingan County in the late 20th century.

After being buried over 3,000 years, the bronzes had suffered from rust, texture mineralization and compression, and took a full year to repair.

The pieces represent the achievements of the civilization of the Shang Dynasty and deserve the title of national treasure, said Peng Minghan, president of the museum.
