Sichuan Opera astonishes young and old  

川剧界近年规模最大的演出在成都拉开

25日晚，川剧名家名段品牌展演活动在成都市锦江剧场举行。当晚演出的川剧节目当中，汇聚了川剧界的10朵中国戏剧梅花奖，6位国家级、5位省级非物质文化遗产川剧代表性人物的代表剧目经典片段，是近年来四川省、乃至西南地区阵容最豪华的川剧演出。

Chengdu (CNS) -- A dozen Sichuan Opera masters wowed audience members both young and old at Jinjiang Theater on Sunday evening.

"The performances are really great. I was especially touched by the modern, innovative play 'Twelve Bridges at Dawn'" said Xiong Yuncan, a senior fan of the opera.

The good qualities of the historical characters are still worth learning today, so Sichuan Opera should be promoted on campuses, added Xiong.

My friends and I enjoyed the performances, said Zeng Xianxian, a new student at Chengdu University. Even a layman can enjoy it, with its astonishing "face-changing" and rock-style music, Zeng added.
