Tokyo (CNS) -- A photo exhibition revealing the sexual violence carried out by the Japanese military during the Second World War will open in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, on Nov. 29, the show's organizing committee said on Monday.
The exhibit uncovers the origins and practice of forcing females to act as "comfort women" and includes investigations by Japanese non-governmental organizations and scholars.
People tend to avoid the topic, the committee said, so this exhibition will show the facts as well as the efforts made to retrieve the women's dignity.
The petitions of the female victims should never be forgotten, and war and sexual violence should never be repeated, the committee said.
The Nanjing exhibition will run until December 8. It has already been held in Wuxiang (Shanxi Province), Guangzhou, Beijing and Xi'an.
