19年准备、2.1亿元投入、被遗忘的“饥饿”话题、明星阵容云集,这都使得冯小刚导演今冬的贺岁大片《一九四二》备受关注。
Beijing (CNS) -- Although it made 26 million yuan (US$4.2 million) at the box office on its opening day, the much-hyped movie "Back to 1942" had earned less than US$16 million as of Sunday, four days after its premiere.
Boasting an "all-star cast," "19 years of preparation" and "an input of US$33.7 million," the movie directed by Feng Xiaogang has nevertheless failed to attract large audiences.
People prefer other, less serious forms of entertainment, said Ma Weidu, an antique collector.
The movie, which portrays the devastating famine that struck Henan Province in 1942, has not generally ranked high among online movie reviews.
