Beijing (CNS) -- A survey released Monday showed that more than 70 percent of young employees in Chinese cities suffered from sleeping problems.

The survey was led by the Ciming Checkup Group and a branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association. Participants ranged from 20 to 45 years old and lived in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

The report showed that 23 percent experienced headaches and bodily soreness after a night's sleep, while another 23 percent had difficulties falling asleep. About 8 percent said they had to take medicine to get to sleep. 23 percent said they were drowsy during the day even after a full night's sleep.

The report also showed that 11.9 percent of those surveyed felt great pressure from life. 35.8 percent said they are under high pressure, while only 17.2 percent said they had little or no pressure. Jobs, family and buying houses were listed as the top three sources of pressure.

Professor Han Xiaohong from the Ciming Checkup Group said that health management should be carried out among young people. She advised them to improve their living habits and do exercises.
