中国控制吸烟协会4日在北京发布的一份调查报告称,内地有82.62%高校无烟环境“不及格”。
Beijing (CNS) -- Over 80 percent of colleges in China have substandard smoke-free areas, according to a report released Tuesday by the China Tobacco Control Association.
The association had paid undercover visits to 800 colleges nationwide and evaluated their smoke-free areas based on eight key indicators.
Although the results of the study are not good, they are still much better than in 2011, when only 2 percent of colleges met the standards, said Xu Guihua, executive vice chairman of the association.
College is a breeding ground for fresh smokers, but an education campaign will help to reduce their numbers, Xu said.
