Guangdong seizes over 14,000 captured animals  

广东打击贩卖野生动物 八天查获逾一万四千只

广东省林业厅5日对外通报称，从11月27日至12月4日，广东查处野生动物案件37起，其中刑事案件4起，被行政处罚人员共41人。

Guangzhou (CNS) -- Guangdong authorities cracked four cases of illegally traded wildlife from November 27 to December 4, and 41 people involved have received administrative justice, the provincial department of forestry said on Wednesday.

Multiple government departments conducted patrols of bird markets, restaurants, hotels and animal breeding farms, seizing 21 animals under special state protection and another 14,300 wild animals, the department said.

The public should raise awareness of wildlife, said a local official, because only with the participation of the whole society will wildlife be protected.
