Beijing (CNS) -- A large collection of relics pertaining to Liang Qichao, an important scholar and reformist during the late Qing Dynasty and early Chinese Republic, was auctioned for 67.09 million yuan (US$10.78 million) on Thursday.
Liang's archives at his former residence at No.54 Nanchang Street in Beijing were auctioned at a base price of 50 million yuan (US$8.03 million) by the Beijing Council International Auction Company.
Among all the items, Liang's original manuscript "Yuan Shikai's Anatomy" earned the highest bid of 7.13 million yuan (US$1.15 million).
