北京智能经济研究院(BASE)16日在北京发布《全球地震指数》(GEI)系统,称能够全面系统监测全球地震水平和趋势变化。
Beijing (CNS)--The Beijing Academy of Smart Economy (BASE) on Sunday unveiled a Global Earthquake Index that has been five years in the making.
The system began experimental operations on June 1, 2012, monitoring daily global earthquake magnitudes and frequency indexes, then making predictions for the next day, said BASE's director Ji Zhu at a press conference Sunday.
The system has already analyzed global earthquake data going back to 2150 B.C. from the U.S. Geological Survey, he said.
