Shanghai (CNS) -- Overflowing molten iron killed two people and injured 13 at a Shanghai steel plant Monday.
The accident happened not long after 9 a.m. when workers were clearing molten slag from a furnace at the plant owned by Baosteel, China's largest listed steelmaker.
A hook lifting the furnace failed, toppling the 270-ton structure, according to an insider.
The injured workers were taken to No. 3 People's Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
A special team has been set up to investigate the accident.
