《解放军报》与部分国内知名军事专家近日共同评选出2012十大国际军事新闻，中国首艘航母入列位居榜首。
Beijing (CNS) -- China's first aircraft carrier the "Liaoning" is number one on the list of top 10 world military "hot spots" in 2012 as selected by Chinese military experts.
Other spots include the unveiling of a new military strategy by the United States; Russia's establishment of its first missile regiment; 22 countries joining the "Pacific Rim 2012" military exercise; Israel carrying out Operation Pillar of Defense in the Gaza Strip; and the Syrian conflict escalating into civil war.
Wang Xinjun, a researcher at the PLA Academy of Military Science, said the peaceful and stable situation continued last year, but regional conflicts existed and escalated.
The "Liaoning" was delivered and commissioned to the People's Liberation Army Navy On September 25, 2012.
