美国萨克斯第五大道精品百货店旧金山分店15日称,鉴于中国游客消费额迅速增加,即日起携手中国银联成为第9家为中国消费者提供银联借记卡服务的分店。
San Francisco (CNS) -- The San Francisco branch of Saks Fifth Avenue said Tuesday that it was cooperating with China UnionPay to better serve Chinese customers. It is the department store's ninth branch to offer the service.
Consumption by customers from Asia saw the fastest growth last year, and Chinese customers accounted for half of the spending by international tourists, said Lain Williams, marketing manager of the San Francisco branch.
"We are the first store to launch UnionPay card service in Union Square, and further promotions will be launched in February," Williams added.
Twenty-two payment systems have been installed since last October and UnionPay service signs have been posted at entrances, said Hou Fang, a U.S. market representative for China UnionPay.
Established in March 2002, Chinese bankcard association UnionPay has more than 3 billion customers and can be used in more than 135 countries and regions all over the world.
