Wuhan (CNS) -- A man who bit fingers off of two people has been caught, according to police in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, on Monday.

The man surnamed Zhao bit off the left thumb of a seven-year-old boy last Thursday while his mother took him to a bus terminal in Wuchang district. Only the day before, an elderly man's right forefinger was bitten off in the same district.

Wuhan police soon launched a sweeping manhunt for the biter using hundreds of surveillance cameras. They also printed screenshots of the suspect and sent them to residents in the area where the attacks took place.

The man was finally caught Monday in his rented house in Huangshi. He is originally from Pingli county of Shaanxi province.

An investigation is ongoing, police said.
