“鉴于中国访客量逐年增加,墨西哥当地将开始认证中文导游。”墨西哥驻广州总领事戴维·纳赫拉·里瓦斯(DavidNájeraRivas)6日在广州表示,希望墨西哥今年的中国访客量增加30%。
Guangzhou (CNS) -- Mexican Consul General to Guangzhou David Renato Najera Rivas said at a press conference on Wednesday that an accreditation system will be established in Mexico to regulate Chinese tour guides in the country.
Mexico has become a hot travel destination for Chinese tourists in recent years. The number of Chinese visitors has been on the increase, according to Tourism Counselor of the Embassy of Mexico Tourism Office Militza Latapi.
To better serve the Chinese tourists, Mexico will set up an accreditation system to introduce certification tests for Chinese tour guides working in the country, Najera said.
Applicants for the test would be limited to tour guide certificate holders in Mexico. Both Mexican tour guides and tour guides from other countries can apply.
The examination will include knowledge about Chinese customs and traditions, and the tourism industry.
Local tourism departments in Mexico will also set up training programs for tourism-related personnel, in order to improve their services for Chinese tourists.
"By improving services, we hope to see a 30 percent increase in the number of Chinese tourists visiting Mexico in 2013," Najera added.
