Exhibit in Guangzhou commemorates death of Sun Yat-sen  

广州举行《孙中山与美国特展》 多件文物首现大陆

3月12日是孙中山先生逝世88周年纪念日，由广州孙中山大元帅府纪念馆联合台北孙中山纪念馆、美国驻广州总领事馆新闻文化处举办的《孙中山与美国特展》在广州揭幕。

Guangzhou (CNS) -- A "Sun Yat-sen and America" exhibit opened in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong province, on Tuesday.

The exhibition is being held to commemorate the 88th anniversary of the death of Dr Sun Yat-sen, a revered revolutionary leader who played a pivotal role in overthrowing imperial rule in China.

The exhibition features 95 historical photographs of Sun Yat-sen and 21 replicas of historical relics.

The exhibit items are supplied by several organizations, including the US National Archives and Records Administration, the Hoover Institution, the Library of Congress, and the Guangzhou-based Memorial Museum of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen's Mansion.

The valuable cultural relics not only reveal the real life and mentality of Sun, but also demonstrate the long-standing friendship between China and the US.

The exhibition is being jointly held by the Memorial Museum of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen's Mansion, the Memorial Hall of Dr. Sun Yat-sen in Taipei, and the Consulate General of the United States in Guangzhou.
