Beijing (CNS) -- The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) said it had a daily net profit of 654 million yuan last year and remains top among the country's big five banks.
ICBC, China Construction Bank (CCB), Bank of China (BOC), Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) and Bank of Communications (BOC) had all announced their financial statements by Wednesday.
The big five saw their combined net profits for 2012 grow to over 780 billion yuan, with a daily profit of 2.1 billion yuan.
Besides being the most profitable bank, ICBC's total assets also topped 17.5 trillion yuan by the end of last year, creating a three trillion yuan gap between the second-largest, China Construction Bank.
The ABC came in before BOC in terms of total assets.
ICBC said its nonperforming loans ratio was 0.85% as of December 31 last year, down from 0.94 percent a year earlier.
