Macao (CNS) -- A tourism promotion campaign with the theme of "China marine tourism year 2013" was held at Macao's Senado Square on Tuesday.
Hosted by the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), the campaign was designed to promote "Beautiful China," the Chinese tourism industry's new tag line and global brand logo.
The event attracted tourism bureaus and travel companies from 21 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hunan province, and Jiangsu province.
Tourism departments from various regions of the mainland displayed the essence of scenic spots of their hometowns, and introduced tourism products to potential visitors.
The event also featured artistic performances, giveaway programs, and lucky drawing.
The exchange in tourism between the mainland and Macao has expanded in recent years. In 2012, the number of tourists from the mainland to Macao reached 16.9 million, and more than 21 million visits were made from Macao to the mainland.
