据香港《文汇报》报道,内地禽流感疫情蔓延,令香港防御警号紧急响起。
(CNS) -- Seasonal bird migration from the mainland may put Hong Kong at risk for an H7N9 influenza outbreak, according to Leung Pak-yin, chief executive of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority, on Monday.
Migratory birds may carry the H7N9 avian influenza virus into Guangdong province and Hong Kong when birds in the north start to fly south for the winter this year, said Leung.
Health departments in Hong Kong have already prepared sufficient medicines, hospital beds and medical staff, he added. We will work in collaboration with our counterparts in Guangdong to control the disease if a flu outbreak occurs.
A special team has already been sent to Shanghai to carry out exchange and communication with local medical staff on treatment methods for H7N9 infections, he also said.
