Ordos (CNS) -- Electronics maker Foxconn is to build a new plant in Ordos, capital of north China's Inner Mongolia, municipal authorities said on Friday.
Liu Jiandong, head of the civil aviation administration office of Ordos, told reporters that Foxconn will invest 10 billion yuan in a plant at the local airport logistics park, and that the project has been officially approved.
Insiders said Foxconn CEO Guo Tai-ming had been to Ordos for a low profile meeting with local officials.
Foxconn came under fire after 10 workers committed suicide by jumping from factory and dorm buildings in Shenzhen from July 2009 to May 2010.
