Shanghai (CNS) -- Liu Haisu Art Museum is collecting work from young artists in China and other countries around the world for its 2013 Shanghai Youth Biennial, an exhibit and competition for young artists to showcase their talent, according to a program organizer on Monday.
Starting Monday, the collection work is divided into two parts. One part is the collection of fine artworks such as traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, and sculptures; the other part is the collection of photography.
Several well-known artists, critics and people who are in charge of art institutions in China will serve as judges for the event.
Prize-winning artists can win 100,000 yuan ($16,242).
Held every two years at Liu Haisu Art Museum, the Shanghai Youth Biennial focuses on works from young and middle-aged artists.
