中国首艘沿海地效翼船试飞成功 可避开雷达声纳

据中国国防科技信息网报道，国产首艘沿海地效翼船“鸿州一号”近日在马山太湖水域试飞成功。

Ecns — The "Hongzhou 1," China's first wing-in-ground (WIG) effect vehicle, has made a successful test flight at (Mashan) Taihu Lake of Wuxi, Jiangsu province, dsti.net reported on Thursday.

The vehicle, with a potential for military applications, is a type of transportation that attains low-level flight near the surface of water.

Its main advantages include: less investment; no need to build comprehensive support facilities such as long runways and terminals; faster flying speeds; high loading capacity; free take-off and landing at a wide range of geographical locations; and the ability to escape radar and sonar scanning.
