Opera institute sets up Mei Lanfang art research center

中国戏曲学院梅兰芳艺术研究中心19日在北京正式挂牌成立，著名京剧表演艺术家、梅兰芳之子梅葆玖担任该中心的名誉主任。

Beijing (ECNS) -- The Chinese Opera Institute set up a Mei Lanfang art research center on Sunday in Beijing.

Mei Lanfang's son Mei Baojiu, a famous Peking Opera artist, was named the honorary director of the center.

The center will invite famous domestic and overseas opera artists and researchers to give lectures monthly on Mei Lanfang; collect materials for an art database; plan a documentary film on Mei Lanfang; organize salons for opera fans to communicate; and organize a Mei Lanfang art festival in cooperation with performing art groups.

Yesterday the symposium "Mei Lanfang and the Spread of Peking Opera" hosted by the Chinese Opera Institute also concluded in the capital city.
