5月19日,国内民众迎来第三个“中国旅游日”。各地景区又扎堆推出免费、打折等优惠吸引游客。
(ECNS) -- Scenic spots in various regions across the country launched special campaigns to attract visitors as the third National Tourism Day was marked on Sunday.
Fifty-one scenic spots in Shanghai were offering half-price tickets. As of 11 am Sunday, Shanghai Wildlife Park saw 13,000 visitors, Oriental Pearl Tower 7,000 visitors, Shanghai Ocean Aquarium and Chenshan Botanical Garden 10,000 visitors.
Chongqing also introduced tourism discount packages worth 200 million yuan ($32.6 million), which includes free tickets, half-price tickets, and tourism experience cards for 55 scenic spots in the region.
Although National Tourism Day is aimed at boosting people's enthusiasm about travel, experts warned that it should not be turned into a commercial promotion day.
National Tourism Day was designed to bring a brand-new tourism concept to the public, which is not limited to a profit-oriented commercial campaign.
