(ECNS) — A giant inflatable duck has returned to action in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbor after a week of maintenance, according to reports.

Standing at 16.5 meters, the bright yellow sculpture created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman attracted large numbers of visitors when it appeared in Victoria Harbor earlier this month before suddenly deflating.

According to Hofman, since the duck started its global adventure in 2007, it has made stops in 12 cities, including Osaka, Sydney, Sao Paolo and Amsterdam.

The art installation, reminiscent of a childhood toy, has brought joy and laughter to many local residents.

"The Rubber Duck knows no frontiers, it doesn't discriminate against people and doesn't have a political connotation. The friendly, floating Rubber Duck has healing properties: it can relieve mundane tensions as well as define them. It is soft, friendly and suitable for all ages!" said Hofman.
