Language teachers take Chinese culture to Philippines

2013年山西省外派华文教师28日启程前往菲律宾，他们带去了代表中华传统文化的汉服、唐装以及中国结、剪纸、皮影等工艺品，在教授汉语的同时，使当地华人华侨学生走近中华传统文化。

Taiyuan (CNS) -- Ten Chinese language and culture teachers from Shanxi province left for the Philippines on Tuesday.

The teachers have passed an examination by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, and are taking various traditional artworks aimed at promoting Chinese culture.

The artworks include Han Chinese clothing, Tang Dynasty suits, Chinese knots and paper-cuttings.

Cheng Naixiao, a 25-year-old teacher, said she is taking idiomatic story books which can be used to facilitate language learning.

This year, 800 Chinese teachers are expected to be sent to foreign countries to teach language and culture.
