(ECNS) — Sewage water samples from a live poultry market in the city of Langfang, Hebei province, have tested positive for the H7N9 virus, according to an official notice released Sunday by the Langfang municipal government.
A 61-year-old woman from the city was confirmed positive for the deadly H7N9 bird flu strain on Saturday and is currently receiving emergency treatment in Beijing.
All 28 people who were in close contact with the woman have not shown symptoms of the infection so far.
The Langfang government has launched a level-IV emergency response to the outbreak.
