(ECNS) -- Alimihan Seyiti, who just marked her 127th birthday in Shule county, Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region, has become the oldest living person in China, Xinjiang Daily reported.
She is waiting to be verified as the oldest living person in the world by a world record authority.
Seyiti, born on June 25, 1886, in the 12th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu, has lived through three centuries.
She was ranked the second-oldest living person in China from 2010 to 2012.
The former oldest living person was Luo Meizhen, from Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, who was born on Aug 25, 1885, and passed away on July 4, 2013.
