(ECNS) -- Cleaning staff at a Beijing hotel say they have used guest towels to clean everything from toilets to drinking glasses.
According to the Beijing News, attendants at the Fortuneland Hotel in Chaoyang district used guest towels to clean bathroom toilets, windows and floors, then later used the same towels to clean drinking glasses.
An employee at the hotel said they don't have enough towels to clean with and that it is too much trouble to wash them. Although the hotel forbids the use of guest towels for cleaning, it is still a "hidden rule" among the staff, she said.
The supervisor of the hotel's housekeeping department said she couldn't monitor every staffer's behavior.
The Beijing sanitation inspection department said it had inspected the hotel and would take punitive action.
