(ECNS) -- Fox TV will not reshoot scenes from its new comedy "Dads" that were deemed "racist" by an Asian American watchdog group, according to a report on usqiaobao.com.
Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly and COO Joe Earley did not mention plans to reshoot these scenes in an open letter, instead they pleaded with the organization to give the show time to develop.
The show pokes fun at stereotypes and bigotries, sometimes in a ridiculous way, they said, adding that the plots are based heavily on the producers' own lives.
"We do recognize comedy is subjective, and we may not be able to please everyone, all the time," they added.
Media Action Network for Asian Americans had asked Fox to replace parts of the premiere episode that depicted "racial and sexual stereotypes," including actress Brenda Song dressing up as a "sexy Asian schoolgirl."
"Dads" is a new Fox comedy about the dynamic between aging fathers and their adult sons, who are horrified by their behavior and views.
