(ECNS) -- An 8-year-old boy living with his grandmother in a remote village has almost lost his ability to speak, according to newssc.net.
The boy, who goes by the nickname Longlong, lives in a shabby house on a hillside in Yongquan village, in Southwest China's Sichuan province.
A road is only 50 meters away from the house, but the boy is isolated from the outside world by a walnut forest.
Without neighbors or playmates, Longlong has only his 82-year-old grandmother and a dog for company.
He will makes strange sounds when strangers approach him.
He seldom goes down the hill. Only when going with his grandmother to collect garbage in the village does he leave the forest area.
Due to the lack of communication with people, Longlong can only lisp a few words, and he is afraid of strangers. He runs away and makes strange sounds when strangers approach him.
Longlong's father passed away when he was only 2 years old, and shortly afterward, his mother left home. His uncle and aunts occasionally visit with supplies.
He spent two years in kindergarten and a semester in primary school, but then dropped out because there was no money.
