(ECNS) -- Florentijn Hofman's giant inflatable duck will meet visitors at the Garden Expo Park and the Summer Palace during its Beijing tour, according to the Beijing Design Week organizing committee on Wednesday.
A present from Amsterdam, the duck will appear in the Garden Expo Park from September 6 to 23, celebrating Mid-autumn Day there, then move to the Summer Palace, where it will stay from September 26 to October 26.
Li Linjie, deputy director of the Summer Palace, said the duck's show at the palace will be a collision between traditional Chinese wisdom and modern design.
The duck will show Beijing's inclusiveness of art works from different nations, Li added.
The two parks will not raise ticket prices during the duck's visit.
The organizing committee will also set up franchised stores in the show areas, as well as online, where people can purchase duck-related merchandise. It will also cooperate with Beijing Postal to launch rubber-duck-themed stamps and postcards.
