(ECNS) -- A five-year-old boy named Duoduo successfully piloted a plane across the Beijing Wildlife Park on Saturday, becoming the youngest pilot in the world, the Yangtze Evening Post reported.
The little boy piloted a Bee 3, a light aircraft designed and manufactured by Beihang University, under his coach's instruction.
In response to doubts about whether he was allowed to fly the plane, Duoduo's father cited a report from CCTV that said China's civil aviation administration had lifted restrictions on the age and aviation knowledge of a pilot flying a light aircraft.
The Bee 3 only weighs 100 kilograms, and if an emergency happened, the coach seated behind Duoduo could take over the aircraft, he added.
Duoduo came into the public eye when an online video went viral during Spring Festival of 2012, showing him running in the snow wearing only underwear.
He later sailed in Qingdao on his own and climbed Mount Fuji with his dad.
Duoduo's father said his education philosophy is called "eagle-style education," or creating a cruel environment for his kid to struggle through.
His next plan was to let Duoduo walk through Hol Xil.
