(ECNS) -- The top floor of the Taipei 101 skyscraper has appeared on TV for the first time since the building was opened in 2003, and is now open for tours, according to news.tvbs.com.tw.
Liu Jiahao, a spokesman for the building, said many people, including some staff members, didn't even know there was a 101st floor in the building. In the past 10 years, only leaders in Taiwan and overseas VIPs have been there, Liu added.
The 101st floor covers an area of 204.6 square meters and offers a better view of Taipei compared to the outdoor (91st floor) observation decks. It is said that visitors need to take two other elevators to reach the top.
The structure of the floor is simple, but the building is charging NT$1.01 million (US$34,099) for a tour during the anniversary. Insiders estimate that the luxury sight-seeing tour may attract 400 to 500 visitors.
