(ECNS) – A news program titled "Chinatown and Rotted Food" on Argentina's America Television is under fire from local Chinese for what they say is biased reporting, according to 51argentina.com.
The program is based on an interview with a man named Enrique Banfi, who also provided secretly-shot photos and videos of poor food hygiene in a local Chinatown.
The program shows some restaurant staff members process skewers near a pile of black plastic bags.
Some Chinese restaurateurs have countered, saying that the report intentionally picked commentaries against Chinese people and customs, and that images of cockroaches and mice were edited into the program on purpose.
A Chinese woman named Sucy, who runs a supermarket in the Chinatown, said the program has defamed all of the Chinese businesspeople in the town.
All Chinese restaurants are allowed to open, but only after passing many forms of inspection, she added.
However, a number of other Chinese said their fellow restaurateurs should take a closer look at their food practices.
