(ECNS) -- To make the process less painful, a hospital in east China's Zhejiang province is offering a special service by playing music for patients while they undergo surgery.
"Playing music to patients during surgery can reduce their anxiety and improve healing," according to Yan Guijiang, a director at the Hangzhou Apollo Man's Hospital, a private andrology hospital.
"Patients can choose any music they like, as long as the rhythm of the music is not that strong," said Yan.
"Since Eason Chan is my favorite singer, I chose six of his songs for my surgery," said Wang, a patient who had just gone under the knife.
Undergoing surgery in an unfamiliar room can be a stressful experience, and easy listening music can lessen the fear among those who stay awake during surgery, Yan added.
