(ECNS)-- An environmental technology company in Inner Mongolia on Thursday released a technique to lower the concentration of PM 2.5 based on the application of dielectrophoresis in Beijing. Exhaust catalytic devices with the technique can lower PM 2.5 of vehicle exhaust by 80 percent.
It's the first time that dielectrophoresis has been used to capture and enrich nano and submicron particles, said Wang Bing, director of Shangpai Environmental Technology Ltd.
Inner Mongolia Institute of Technology dielectrophoresis applications, which belongs to the same group as the company, became the only one among the world to successfully apply the technology to industrial production, Wang added.
According to Wang, the new device can replace the three-way catalytic converter at a lower cost.
Shangpai has cooperated with a number of automakers, and the new devices will be applied in new models, Wang said.
