(ECNS) – A new kind of toilet paper made from 22-karat gold may meet the rich's demand to flush their money down the toilet, according to Guangzhou Daily.
The gold toilet paper, developed by the Australian company "Toilet Paper Man" sells for $1,376,900 per roll through the Internet.
The company's website described the product, "This is the most expensive toilet paper roll in the world. As you use the toilet paper, 22-karat gold flakes will fall onto the floor and your behind, taking you to another level of sophistication."
A representative at the company said the inspiration came from Dubai hotels with gold toilet seats and handles.
Just one roll has been made so far.
The company said each roll will be delivered personally with a free bottle of champagne. However, no one has bought the roll yet.
Anther absurd and costly product, called "Golden waste", also went on sale through the Internet.
"Boxes of 24kt gold pills that promise to turn your innermost parts into chambers of wealth," the seller said on the Internet.
Each box of the sparkling capsules, measuring 2cm in length, is priced at $425.
