(ECNS) – The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce said Thursday that it has been working with the local public security department to stop the sale of devices for tapping and secret photographing, Beijing News reported.
In an early raid, 48 suspects were arrested, and over 3,700 items identified as special devices for tapping and covert photographing were taken.
Lu Xiang, deputy director of marketing at the bureau, said it will revoke the business licenses of some of the merchants who were arrested.
On Thursday, 17 merchants had their licenses revoked. Meanwhile, Dinghao Electronics Mall, which sells digital products in Zhongguancun, was fined 20,000 yuan ($3,278) as 10 merchants in it were involved in the case.
