(ECNS) -- An egg substitute created by a US company is on shelves in the United States and might enter the Chinese market next year, China International Radio (CNR) reported.
The food, named "Beyond Egg," contains protein drawn from plants such as peas and beans, and recreates the versatile nutrition of real eggs.
The fluid vegan egg, sold in glass bottles, has almost the same taste as real eggs and can also be used in creating faux mayonnaise and a variety of baked goods.
What's more, "Beyond Egg" is cheaper.
The company has received investments from Bill Gates and plans to sign contracts with fast food giants KFC and McDonald's.
