(ECNS) -- A rare picture of New China's founding father Chairman Mao Zedong wearing glasses is on display at an exhibit in Wuhan, Hubei province, to mark the 120th anniversary of Chairman Mao's birthday.
In the picture, a smiling Mao is wearing black-framed glasses and watching a show. It's the only photo of Mao wearing glasses shown to the public so far.
Mao suffered from cataract in his twilight years. The picture was shot while Mao was watching a Cantonese opera at Donghu Hotel in Wuhan after his first cataract surgery.
The exhibit at Donghu Hotel, a former residence of Mao, features over 400 photos of Mao during his stay in Wuhan.
Most of the pictures are contributed by the Party History Research Center of the CPC Central Committee, the Party Literature Research Center of the CPC Central Committee, and photographers who once accompanied Mao.
A total of 100 pictures in the show are being seen by the public for the first time.
