(ECNS) -- Australia is already a large supplier of red meat to China, and now the kangaroo industry is hoping to get a piece of the pie, according to a China National Radio (CNR) program on Sunday.
Australian kangaroo meat processors have said that exporting the meat to China would be a huge boost for the industry.
Citing the World Trade Organization, CNR said that China's appetite for meat is expected to rise nearly 17 percent over the next eight years, and that demand among Chinese consumers for alternative meat is increasing.
Nearly 20 percent of Australians won't eat kangaroo, according to a recent survey.
