(ECNS) -- Philippines' Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada currently has no plan to go to Hong Kong to apologize over the deaths of eight Hong Kong tourists in a 2010 hostage crisis, the Hong Kong-based Ming Pao said.

Estrada was spotted in Macao on Sunday before the fight between Filipino professional boxer Manny Pacquiao and American boxer Brandon Rios.
Asked when he would go to Hong Kong and present an apology, Estrada said he had no plans at present and then hurried into the gym.

The Philippine Cabinet told media that they would release plans for a solution to the hostage crisis soon after having met Hong Kong senior officials in the city last week.
An official from Hong Kong's legislative council said he felt the following week will see a closure of the incident.
Hong Kong wants an official apology from the Philippines over the botched hostage rescue attempt three years ago and compensation to the victims and family members.
