(ECNS) – With space technology being put into civilian use, the engine technology on Chang'e-3 lunar probe can be used to help combat smog, according to Beijing Times. [Special coverage]
Researchers have developed an incineration method that can classify combustion products based on thermal control principle applied on the Chang'e-3 engine.
A combustion furnace developed with combustion technology can deal with acid gas and smoke. A set of equipment to recover sulfur and reduce nitrate has also been developed, which can be used in factories to control hazardous gas emission.
Researchers have also mastered coal gasification with combustion technology, which can transfer coal ashes into essential materials for aluminum oxide, preventing the ashes from flowing into the air, which contaminates air and soil.
In addition, the turbopump in the engine can be converted into a fire pump for forest fire prevention, which is small and convenient enough for police to carry.
