(ECNS) – A 65-year-old man posted new rules for his family online, warning his children not to blackmail kind-hearted people who might help him if he falls down, China National Radio reported.

"Forgive those who run me down, for they don't mean to hurt me; be grateful to those who help me up, including those who run me down and don't escape; and never think of blackmailing those who help me, for such bad deeds would lead to the bad karma of dying without descendants," the post said.

The man in Luoyang, Henan province, said he wrote the rules in order to set an example to re-establish a mutual-trust moral environment.

"I've seen too many people get blackmailed after helping the elderly who fall down, which has caused people to not want to do such good deeds again."
