(ECNS) -- An unmanned aerial vehicle caused delays for more than 10 passenger flights at Beijing Capital International Airport on Sunday, the Beijing News reported Tuesday.
The unidentified aircraft appeared in airspace to the east of the airport at about 11 a.m. on Sunday. It also forced two planes in the area to maneuver away from one another.
The municipal security department and other departments sent a helicopter to intercept the aircraft.
An investigation showed that the unmanned aerial vehicle was controlled by a local company to carry out surveying and mapping.
Four people involved in the case have been detained and charged with endangering public security.
