(ECNS) – Photos showing a young man on horseback amid traffic went viral online, according to the Chengdu Daily.

Netizens nicknamed him "Mashangge" (man on horse), but his real name is Yao Shaoshuang, and he won a riding competition in Sichuan in 2013.

Yao said he couldn't buy a train ticket to his mother-in-law's home, and then came up with the idea of riding the horse to surprise his wife and mother-in-law.

His whim of traveling on horseback has drawn a lot of attention from netizens.
