(ECNS)-- Wei Caiqi, the 15-year-old niece of famous Chinese dancer Yang Liping, will perform as "Time Girl" at the 2014 Spring Festival Gala.
Wei will draw a timeline synchronously with the gala by twirling for four hours nonstop.
She will twirl on a special stage when the gala begins and accelerate twirling speed as the gala approaches midnight.
Some have said that twirling for four hours would be cruel for the dancer.
The dancer said she saw the performance as a kind of "spiritual cultivation," similar to the practice of sitting in meditation.
"I feel grateful for the skill of twirling and this opportunity to perform at the Spring Festival Gala," said Wei in a post on her Sina Weibo account.
