(ECNS) -- The incomplete set of Olympic rings at the opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games at Sochi have led to the sale of hundreds of commemorative T-shirts at online stores, the Beijing Morning Post said.[Special coverage]
A Zhejiang-based store on Taobao, one of China's online markets, put a Sochi problem T-shirt with the four Olympic rings and the snowflake-looking thing on sale hours after the opening ceremony.
In the following 24 hours, 223 shirts were ordered, according to sales records.
The seller said they sold the T-shirt first on Taobao, and are confident of sales, as the Sochi problem is now a hot topic worldwide.
But buyers have to wait a week to get them, because factories have not opened yet, he added.
Another seller on Taobao, which boasted of a stock of such T-shirts, told reporters that he hired two workers to work day and night to meet the demand.
The T-shirts on Taobao vary from 20 yuan to 200 yuan ($3.30 to $33), most being sold for about 39 yuan.
But a lawyer warned that the copyright of the design, four rings and a snowflake, although a mistake, should still be owned by the organizer.
